1830's - 1840's Stays / Early Victorian Corset by Past Patterns
Pattern includes more decorative Wedding Stays and plainer Corded Stays. This is a tissue paper pattern, multi-sized with Bust sizes 33 - 41 included in one pattern. Embroidery motifs are also included on the tissue.

Saundra Altman from Past Patterns has an excellent reputation for historical authenticity in her pattern designs. These Stays are drafted from originals in a museum collection. The original Wedding Stay was made from cotton jean cloth and lined with cotton homespun. The original Corded Stay was made of linen. The instructions include historical notes, illustrations of period hand-stitching and embroidery, a small illustrated article on 1830 Foundation Garments, and also illustrated instructions on how to make a wooden busk to fit your own Stays.
