Early 19th Century Chemises by Past Patterns
The instructions note these Chemises as being appropriate for the 1840's. There are options for a high neck or lower scoop neck, and for long, elbow length sleeves or shorter sleeves. The layout instructions give information on adjusting the pattern to mimic the narrower widths of material available in this time period. These Chemises are based on the block method, with most pieces being squares, and with gussets under the arms. Multi-size pattern includes bust sizes 33-41 in one package.

Saundra Altman from Past Patterns has an excellent reputation for historical authenticity in her pattern designs. These Chemises are drafted from originals in a museum collection. A Chemise in this time period would have been made from linen. The detailed and well illustrated instructions also include a chart of embroidery initials to personalize your garment.   This is a heavy paper pattern.
