1856 Gathered Dress by Truly Victorian
This pattern is for an 1856 dress, designed from fashion plates and original garments of the pre-Civil War Era. This style is suitable for the years 1855-1862, and fits over TV141 round hoop. It has a gathered Fan Front bodice, with a fitted lining and a gathered back. The deep V neckline can be filled in with a chemisette, or let open for a dinner dress. The full gathered sleeve has a fitted upper section and dropped shoulder line. The bodice reaches to the waist at the back and sides, with a shallow point in front. The bodice can also be made plain, if desired. A full skirt is attached to the bodice, or can be sewn to a separate waistband. The closure is in the center front, with hooks and eyes. This bodice is designed to fit snugly over a corset.

This is a heavy paper pattern with 9 pieces. The sewing instructions seem easy to follow, and are lightly illustrated. There are instruction on how to customize your pattern for a perfect fit, and a page of suggested trims.

Multi-sized pattern with bust sizes 30-56, and waist sizes 22-48 all in one package. Please see back cover photo for sizing chart, fabric and notion requirements.
